CANCELLATION of exceptional conditions for the entry of companion animals accompanying refugees from Ukraine to the territory of Slovakia
The State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as „SVFA SR“) cancels all exceptional conditions of non-commercial entry of all companion animals accompanying refugees from Ukraine to the territory of Slovakia with immediate effect.
SVFA SR decided on the urgent cancellation of this exception and on the necessity of fulfilling the valid conditions for the entry of animals from Ukraine as a third country into the territory of Slovakia, based on a confirmed case of rabies in a stray dog caught directly on the Slovak-Ukrainian border on the territory of the border village of Veľké Slemence.
For the entry of companion animals from Ukraine, it is necessary to fulfill the general conditions for the non-commercial entry of companion animals from third countries into the European Union and the territory of the Slovak Republic in accordance with the applicable legislation.
More detailed information on the conditions for the non-commercial entry of companion animals from third countries into the EU is publicly available on the website of the European Commission.
