Dr. Chudý graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Brno in 1995. He started his professional practice since 1997 in different scope of activities of the State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic (SVFA SK), including practical internships.
From 1997 to 1999, he has worked in the field of veterinary certification including procedures related to exchanges of goods, import and export of consignments subject to veterinary control.
During the years 1999 – 2008 he worked as the head of the office of the Chief Veterinary Officer of the Slovak Republic (CVO), where he was involved in coordinating the activities of the CVO, in the monitoring of relevant EU legislation and representing Slovakia at EU level. He was also responsible for public information and mass media about the activities of the SVFA SK.
Between the years 2008 – 2017 he worked at the Permanent Representation of the Slovak Republic to the EU in Brussels as a diplomatic officer in the field of veterinary care (veterinary attaché). At that time he chaired and assisted the working groups at the level of the Council of the EU during the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2016.
After returning from Brussels he was acting as the head of the Animal Health and Welfare Department of the SVFA SK. He was representing Slovakia at the meetings of the Standing Committee for Plants, Animals, Food and Feed in Brussels. From 15th May 2023 to 25th October 2023 he was appointed as the Chief Veterinary Officer of the State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic.
Dr. Chudý is active in educational activities for official veterinarians in the field of animal health and animal protection, as well as in lecturing for hunters (animal diseases), training for employees carrying out catching of stray animals and retraining of experts dealing with procedures on animals used for scientific purposes. He speaks English and German fluently. He is married with 2 daughters.
